Mexico-based Hydra Technologies promoted its S45 Baalam unmanned aerial system in the Middle East at the last edition of the IDEX exhibition, which took place from 17-21 February in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

"We are confident in what our products can bring to the UAE market and exposure, as well as to other military forces and who require reliable systems in this region of the world," he added.

The S45 Baalam is battle proven, with successful intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting solutions, and its optional armed version. The S45 is a twin-engine tactical system, with a line-of-sight range of 70 miles or 120km, an operational ceiling of 17,000ft and 12 hours of effective mission time. It is equipped with state-of-the-art gimbal camera systems that include mid-wave infrared and high-definition visual spectrum sensors with up to 130X zoom.

The S45 also offers multiple solutions to support ground forces through advanced on-board radio repeater systems and state-of-the-art remote video terminals, as a novelty, the Mexican company is also offering synthetic aperture radar (SAR) solutions on its platforms for special operations, coastal security and naval ISR missions.

Hydra's systems have been successfully deployed by different military, homeland security and law enforcement end-users, achieving high reliability ratings in the UAV market.
